Ok, so maybe I wasn't the ONLY one kicking up a fuss about the Care to Learn consultation after all. Here's what others had to say:

"If it is true that 'teenage pregnancy remains a priority for the Coalition Government' then it is imperative that funding for Care to Learn is increased to ensure that all teenage parents - not just those under 19 - are given the support that they need to access education, training and employment.

Prymface Recommendations for Care to Learn Consultation

The following recommendations should be considered to ensure that young parents are able to progress in education and employment.

1.    As well as covering all parents under 19, guaranteed childcare payments should remain for young parents who start a course when they are 19 – particularly for those without a level 3 qualification, looking to improve on their current qualification level or have had their education disrupted due to pregnancy or becoming a parent.

I think that you probably should be aware
That in the tick boxes provided my response wasn't there
The comments box was too small to have a real voice
And therefore there seems to be no other choice

Operation Save Care2Learn Day 10!

So, the first week of survey responses have been analysed (see previous blog post). Thank you to everyone who completed a survey - They are still coming in but please do spread the word. Young Parent Survey Results*

Who responded to the survey?

73 parents responded to the survey in the first 7 days. Over half had given birth to their first child in the last 4 years. The most common age for giving birth was in the year parents turned 17. 32% were in school when they found out they were pregnant and 32% were working, 23% were in college and 11% were NEET.
